I am struck by the variety in layouts possible in Blogger. Not only are there a variety of templates - but I hadn't realized - until Lori invited me to be a member of her blog, that this that puts all members on the same level. Member's comments appear at the same level as the blog owners...rather than as only "second-level comments", which could easily be missed unless you are looking for them.

So if an instructor wants to create a way for students to raise or to answer questions about the reading assignment, or refer to questions that remain unresolved after class discussion...a class blog would seem to be an interesting way for students to raise certain questions, and for instructors to add additional points that remained unclear in the previous classroom discussion. I'm still looking for a way to print or archive the blog posts ...and this could be a weakness of Blogger.com or a general weakness of using the blogosphere, versus an threaded discussion in Blackboard.
